Thanksgiving 2006

Our first Thanksgiving together was pretty great! We stayed in and made quite the spread. Brian made the turkey (including pulling out the guts...what a man! see above), and the pie and I made the rest. We stayed in comfy clothes and watched football. It was all very low key and low stress which we both needed for a change! Peanut eyed the food, got his own plate of turkey and then fell into tryptophan slumber!

dear brian and nicole,
i really enjoy these pictures you send. i'm glad that you had a nice thanksgiving. i was trying to figure out the menu. the rolls and turkey are easy. it looks like greenbean casserole and stuffing but the other two containers i'm not sure of. there probably is mashed potatoes in one of them and maybe califlower? is there a prize if you get them all correct?
we had a very nice thanksgiving dinner. we had brian's favorite cheeseball and crackers and grapes for an appetizer. then we had turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, green bean cassserole, what jen calls cheesy potatoes, carrots and then pumpkin and chocolate silk pie for dessert we ate at jen and austin's apartment. his parents came over at about 4:00 and after dinner we played dominoes. jen cooked us a big breakfast of eggs, hash browns and oj at about 10:00 so we were pretty well stuffed i would say. its hard to be away from you guys though.

Hi Cathy,

No prize I am afraid. We like that pic because it looks like Peanut is about to dig in and also we wanted everyone to know that we did get to celebrate even if we are without family in California!! One of the bowls is buttered noodles, which Brian says is a family tradition? He was very cute making the pie. He really wanted to get it just right....like his mom used to make!
